The 10,000 Mile Stock Footage Road Trip

There’s nothing quite like a short road trip to clear my head and get out of the day to day grind. So if a little is good, then a lot must be better, right? Right! So we hit the road on a 10,000 mile long stock footage road trip. (In actuality, it was a bunch of road trips spaced out over the last five or six months with a week or two at home in between outings)

From our home base in southwestern Washington State my wife Wendy and I traveled by road well over 10,000 miles in total shooting footage all along the way. We managed to get as far north as Edmonton in Alberta, Canada. As far south as Los Angeles, California and as far east as the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone National Park. There were many loooong (12+ hour) driving days and many days shooting from sunrise to sunset but the footage we captured was downright spectacular and will make a great addition to our CrackerClips Stock Footage collection.

As we work our way through the edit que I will be making new posts to share the highlights of the destinations we visited and to let you know what new footage is available for you to include in your projects. So check back often and enjoy the ride.

Oregon Coast – Oregon Stock Footage

Ah…the Oregon coast, the stuff dreams are made of. Having grown up in southern California I spent plenty of time at the beach but in the Pacific Northwest you don’t go to “the beach” you go to “the coast”. True to form the coast is much different than the beach. Oh sure enough there are beaches on the Oregon coastline (some really great beaches!) but the beaches take a back seat to the coastline which can be rugged, rocky and dramatic. In places, miles of sea stacks dot the coastline and old growth forests grow practically up to the incoming waves. A trip to the Oregon coast will not soon be forgotten.

Mount St. Helen’s – Washington Stock Footage

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Mount St. Helen’s eruption. A lot changed that day in 1980 but equally amazing is how much has changed in the 30 years since. The ecosystems surrounding the volcano have rebounded much faster than was thought possible. In addition, the building of Johnston Ridge Observatory has provided visitors with a stunning, close-up view of the Washington volcano. View all our Mount St. Helen’s stock footage.
